Subject is a 15 minute electric music theatre piece written in close collaboration with Louis Marlon. In short, the main character of the piece is slowly suspended from the ceiling. Once there he is being tied up in a construction of weights and cables. Realizing his situation he begins to explore his new found condition, all tension and movement on the cables is directly translated to sound by amplification and some basic generative manipulations. The project revolves around the main subject who is suspended in an instrument unifying movement, image and sound. Abstractly, Subject loosely plays with the idea of controlling and exploration of the self in its environment.
